What constraints to travel to Turkey ?
What are the entry formalities for traveling to Turkey, and what are the health conditions?
Turkey has significantly relaxed its protocol for travelers.
Indeed since June 1, 2022, the obligation to present a negative PCR or antigen test, a vaccination or cure certificate to enter Turkey has been lifted.

Thus the country is open to all travelers vaccinated or not without having to present any proof. All travelers meeting the general travel conditions (valid travel document, visa if applicable) can travel to Turkey without any restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, further specifies the Quai d’Orsay.
Turkey trip: Vaccine test… wearing a mask?
No need for a certificate or test before departure to travel to Turkey.
Regarding the wearing of a mask, it remains compulsory in all public transport (including interurban).
What formalities to travel to Turkey?
French nationals are exempt from visa for a tourist stay in Turkey not exceeding 90 days over a period of 180 days, whether the stay is continuous or split.
To travel to Turkey, the French must have a passport or a national identity card whose validity period exceeds by at least 150 days the date of entry into Turkey.
Adults in possession of a national identity card issued between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013 are still valid for 5 years after the expiry date indicated on the back.
The Turkish authorities have officially accepted this extension.
“However, in order to avoid any inconvenience during his trip, it is strongly recommended to prefer the use of a valid passport to that of a CNI bearing an expired expiry date, even if it is considered by the authorities French as still valid” warns the Quai d’Orsay.
What travel conditions for children?
Minors traveling unaccompanied by their parents:
- must be in possession of a passport, the validity of which must exceed by at least 150 days the date of entry into Turkey;
- must be provided, in the absence of a passport, with a national identity card whose period of validity must exceed by at least 150 days the date of entry into Turkey, on the one hand, and with an authorization of travel drawn up and signed by the parent(s), on the other hand. This travel authorization can be drawn up using the form posted on the service-public.fr website. In the event of a school trip, students must also have a certificate issued by the head of the establishment.
In addition, in anticipation of their return to France, French-Turkish dual nationals must ensure that they have a valid French travel document (passport or national identity card).
Turkey classified in green by France
France has classified Turkey in green. Green countries are countries/territories in which no active circulation of the virus is observed and no variants of concern are identified.
To return to France from a green country: travelers aged twelve or over who do not have proof of a complete vaccination schedule or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 must present the negative result before travel. a PCR test less than 72 hours or an antigen (TAG) test less than 48 hours.
