According to local legend, it is said that this river which offers an Edenic environment to its visitors with its icy waters and its freshness, was created by pouring milk on the ground which was then maintained by the shepherd named “Munzur”.
Munzur Valley National Park is the largest and most biodiverse in Turkey and is part of the mountainous Eastern Anatolia ecoregion. It is one of the richest floristic areas in Anatolia. It was created to protect the wildlife and scenic beauty of the region.
An investment project is currently underway to clean up this marvelous site of infrastructure distorting the landscape, thus restoring its natural grace. In particular, there are plans to create wooden landscaping.
